Childish Gambino shows at United Center, elsewhere postponed

Actor Donald Glover said Monday that he is postponing an Oct. 3 show at Chicago’s United Center and other stadium dates by his hip-hop alter ego Childish Gambino.

“I have to postpone the rest of the North American tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks,” he wrote on X, adding that tickets will be honored at rescheduled dates.

“Thanks for the privacy,” he said, giving no further details about his condition. “Thanks for the support. Thanks for the love.”

The Chicago show was to be the last North American date on Childish Gambino’s tour supporting his album “Bando Stone and the New World,” released in July.

The “Atlanta” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” actor has said “Bando Stone,” the soundtrack for an upcoming movie of the same name, will be the last for the Childish Gambino persona.

The tour was scheduled to move overseas beginning with an Oct. 31 show outside Lyon, France. Glover’s statement gave no hint on the fate of the concerts outside North America.
