A Cicero man is facing charges after a 70-year-old golfer was run over Monday evening at the Billy Caldwell Golf Course in Forest Glen on the Northwest Side.
Tory Gardner, 30, is accused of driving an SUV onto the course in the 6100 block of North Caldwell Avenue and hitting a 70-year-old man who was golfing near the fifth hole around 5:30 p.m. Monday, the Forest Preserves of Cook County Police announced Thursday.
The 70-year-old was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he remained in the Intensive Care Unit Thursday, police said.
Officers managed to get Gardner pulled over, and he was arrested after getting out of the SUV while brandishing a knife, police said.
Gardner is facing one count of aggravated battery to a senior citizen with great bodily harm and one count of unlawful use of a weapon or knife.
