It was hard to see in a row of businesses along Colorado Boulevard, especially if you’re keeping an eye on the clogged traffic in between 8th and 9th avenues, but the Congress Park Taproom has been serving beers, whiskey and trivia since 2016.
But on Tuesday, the cozy bar at 833 Colorado Boulevard announced on social media that it is closing for good.
“With heavy hearts, we announce our last day pouring will be Wednesday, June 11,” the post reads. “We appreciate the love and support the neighborhood has shown us over the last 9 years. Coming to this decision was not easy, but we came to the conclusion that now was the time. Come share a beer with us before we are gone and only the mountains of memories remain.”
The cozy, low-key bar has been a neighborhood favorite — at least for those who knew it was there — serving up beer on 30 taps, much of it local or interesting craft selections.
