Colorado high school football: How Post Preps Top 10 teams fared in Week 7

Class 5A

1. Cherry Creek (7-0) won at Arapahoe, 56-0: The Bruins’ rampage through the 5A Centennial League continued with a 42-point first half that began with a long Jayden Fox touchdown run, three Brady Vodicka touchdown passes and a defensive score. The shutout was Creek’s third this season and fifth over a 20-game win streak dating back to Week 2 of last season. Next week: vs. Eaglecrest, 7 p.m. Oct. 16.

2. Ralston Valley (7-0) won at Denver South, 47-7: Senior quarterback Zeke Andrews threw touchdown passes to three different receivers and ran in another score as part of a 15-of-16 night that brought his season passing yardage total to 1,744 yards. Senior receiver Nico Benallo scored a touchdown apiece receiving and rushing and finished with 107 total yards as Ralson Valley took a 47-0 lead after three quarters and cruised from there. Next week: vs. Columbine, 7 p.m. Oct. 16.

4. Arvada West (7-0) won vs. Columbine, 20-17: Senior quarterback Logan Duhachek connected with Keegen Balistreri on an 83-yard pass to set up the game-winning TD late in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats survived an upset bid to secure their first 7-0 start of the MaxPreps Era (starting 2004). Columbine senior Mark Snyder’s 2-yard scoring run gave Columbine a 17-13 lead with 4:33 to go, but A-West marched the other way with Duhachek’s bomb to Balistreri. The QB then found Noah Meurer for his second TD catch of the game to retake the lead for good. Balistreri added a 47-yard TD pass to Ayden Garcia on a trick play. Tolliver tacked on another rushing score, while Jake Dee returned an interception for a touchdown. Next week: vs. Mullen, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17.

9. Pine Creek (4-3) won vs. Douglas County, 55-48: The Eagles survived a wild back-and-forth affair that included five touchdown passes from Douglas County quarterback Jaden Adragna and 100-receiving-yard nights from Huskies Asher Schembri (180 yards), Myles Coxe (163) and Jackson McCune (110) to rebound from last week’s loss to Legend. Next week: at Chaparral, 4 p.m. Oct. 17.

Regis took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a Luke Rubley TD pass to Dahntay Kouahi and Colt Jones’ pick-6, but the Raiders’ only points after that came on a Jack Manthey 43-yard field goal.
