Colorado’s mountains are forecast to welcome New Year’s Day with a round of snow.
Light snow is expected to begin falling Wednesday afternoon and evening, becoming heavier overnight and into Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Forecasters warned that blowing snow, poor visibility and slick roads could make for hazardous mountain travel conditions and cautioned commuters to alter travel plans accordingly, either setting out earlier Wednesday or sticking around until drier Friday conditions.
