Thunderstorms are expected again this afternoon and evening over the Front Range mountains, foothills, South Park and I-25 corridor. Severe storms may be possible with heavy rain, hail and high winds.
Severe storms yesterday brought hail up to 1.5 inches to Aurora and 1.75 inch hail, along with flash flooding, to the streets of Parker, according to the National Weather Service. Two cars were stranded in floodwater at the intersection of Hess Road and Pardee Street around 6:15 p.m. in Parker, according to a South Metro Fire Rescue X post.
South Metro Fire Rescue also reported a house fire in Douglas yesterday evening that was caused by lightning. No injuries were reported, according to the X post.

Thunderstorms will develop over areas of higher elevation in northeast and north central Colorado by early this afternoon before moving east over the plains through the early evening. High winds and 1 inch hail is possible in some storms. Heavy rainfall may also lead to localized flooding, according to the NWS.
The Denver Metro area will be partly sunny today with a high of 86 degrees. There’s a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with most storms occurring after 3 p.m.
Thunderstorms may continue into the evening, with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight and a low of 57 degrees.
Dry weather is expected in the Denver metro area Tuesday, with a mostly sunny day and a high of 85 degrees. Tuesday night will be mostly clear with a low of 61 degrees.
Dry, warm weather with highs above 90 degrees is expected Wednesday and Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms may return to Denver on Friday afternoon, according to the NWS.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to form over the mountains in portions of central, east central, south central and southeast Colorado this afternoon before moving east into adjacent areas this evening. Heavy rainfall, lightning, high winds and hail up to 1 inch in diameter may be possible. Flooding is also possible, especially in urban areas, burn scars, areas near the Arkansas River and areas that received rainfall yesterday.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon in portions of northwest, southwest and west central Colorado. Storms will develop over higher terrains, especially over the Divide and southern Colorado mountains, and may drift into nearby valleys. Lightning and gusty winds may be possible and small tributaries and rivers may run high.
Isolated thunderstorms may continue in Colorado Tuesday, with drier, warmer weather on Wednesday and Thursday.
