Memorial Day will likely coincide with rain and thunder in Denver this year following a wet weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The metro area can expect showers through Saturday afternoon, with thunderstorms possible between noon and 3 p.m., meteorologists say. Temperatures will climb to 72 before falling to about 50 overnight.
Sunday will likely bring more showers and the potential for thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the upper 40s are forecast.
Memorial Day will see a slight chance of showers in the morning, with the odds of rain and thunder increasing in the afternoon. A high of 64 and a low of 47 were projected as of Saturday morning.
The Colorado Air National Guard’s 140th Wing plans to fly F-16 fighter jets over nine Colorado cities Monday to mark the holiday, though the wing said Friday that inclement weather could impact flight plans.
