The Commanders ruled out two big names for the game against the Bears on Monday: wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown.
McLaurin, who is out with a quad injury, topped 1,000 yards receiving each of the last five seasons. Brown is less of a factor overall, but well known to the Bears for catching the winning touchdown pass in the “Fail Mary” game last season.
McLaurin had five catches for 125 yards in that game.
They could be without star wide receiver Deebo Samuel, too. He didn’t practice Saturday. Because of a bruised heel and is questionable. Commanders coach Dan Quinn said it could take until Monday to know if he can play.
Samuel, whom they traded for this year, leads the team with 30 catches for 300 yards and three touchdowns. He also is averaging 6.6 yards per carry and has a rushing touchdown.
The Bears are playing without top cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who is on injured reserve, but are getting nickel corner Kyler Gordon back from a hamstring injury for his season debut.
