Concord pedestrian struck, killed by car is identified

CONCORD — Authorities on Tuesday identified a man who was fatally hit by a car on a city street late Sunday.

The collision that killed 55-year-old Anthony Rizotto happened about 8 p.m. at the intersection of Monument Boulevard and Reganti Drive, according to police. The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office identified him publicly Tuesday and said he did not have a listed city of residence.

Authorities said Rizotto was trying to cross Monument Boulevard when the crash happened. They did not say whether he was walking within a crosswalk.

Rizotto died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Rizotto remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Police have not made an arrest.
