Construction equipment flip on I-25 in Denver causes delays for morning drivers

All but one lane of southbound Interstate 25 was closed in downtown Denver on Wednesday for an early morning crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

As of 7:45 a.m., the four right lanes of southbound I-25 were closed between exit 213 for Park Avenue and exit 212C for 20th Street, according to CDOT.

A piece of construction equipment flipped onto its side near the Park Avenue off-ramp, according to reporting from Denver7. The construction contractor is trying to get the equipment back on its wheels to tow it off the highway, CDOT told Denver7.

The crash caused more than an hour of delays for some drivers before 7 a.m., but delays had dropped to roughly 20 minutes in the area by 7:30 a.m., according to CDOT.

It’s unknown when the highway is expected to reopen or if anyone was injured.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
