CPD investigates possible shots that struck squad car in Little Village

A Chicago police vehicle was struck by gunfire Friday night in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

Officers were on patrol about 10:45 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Sacramento Avenue when they heard a gunshot followed by a loud noise near their tailgate, Chicago police said.

The officers got out and noticed that the rear hatch of their patrol vehicle had been struck by gunfire, police said. They searched the area, but they were unable to locate the shooter.

No injuries were reported. Area Four Detectives are investigating.
