Drivers stuck Thursday on southbound Interstate 25 in Greenwood Village are facing up to 45-minute delays after a crash shut down the highway’s four right lanes, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The four right lanes of southbound I-25 are closed at exit 198 for Orchard Road in Greenwood Village, south of Denver, state transportation officials said.
First responders who responded to a crashed box truck on the Orchard off-ramp are blocking the other lanes, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.
Crews responded to the crash on the off-ramp just after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the fire agency. Paramedics took one person to the hospital with unknown injuries, and no other vehicles were involved.
Drivers can expect extended delays in the area as crews work to stabilize and remove the commercial vehicle, which rolled onto its roof during the crash, South Metro Fire Rescue officials said.
Information on the cause of the crash and when the lanes are expected to reopen was not available Thursday.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
