Crews battle fire after house explosion in Oswego

A gas leak is suspected of causing a house to explode Thursday afternoon in far southwest suburban Oswego, officials said.

Multiple fire departments responded Thursday to the explosion at a home in the 200 block of Fox Chase Drive North and battled an ensuing fire, according to Oswego fire and police officials.

Nicor Gas also responded to the scene to investigate, police said.

Vehicle access to Fox Chase Drive North was closed due to the fire, police said.

As of Thursday afternoon, it was not yet known if anyone was injured. Additional details were not immediately released.
