Around 10:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 27000 block of Eucalyptus Court for a report of a disturbance, the Hayward Police Department said in a news release. A woman was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau will release the woman’s identity after it is confirmed and her next of kin is notified.
Officers also found a 47-year-old man suffering from apparent self-inflicted cuts, police said. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The man and woman were married and lived together, police said.
“This incident is being investigated as a suspicious death,” police said. “The investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be provided as they become available.”
