Hopscotch Beer Garden is coming to Denargo Market in Denver’s River North Art District, with plans to open next year.
“The opening of Hopscotch is a milestone for not only the Denargo Market development, but the surrounding neighborhood,” said Laura Newman, vice president of investment and development at Golub & Co.
“Hopscotch will be one of the first food and beverage concept to service what’s currently an amenity desert – and in time, we hope it will become the heartbeat of an energetic community.”

Developed by joint venture partners Golub and FORMATIV and operated by DrinkDenver, Hopscotch will serve draft beer, wine, kombucha and canned cocktails alongside a small selection of light bites and a rotating schedule of food trucks.
Located at 3380 Denargo St. and designed in collaboration with Sasaki, Hopscotch will feature more than 17,000 square feet of bar and patio space, offering casual outdoor seating, seasonal programming and weekly events.
The beer garden will include a heated tent for colder seasons, flexible event space, and a turf lawn designed for games and pick-up sports such as volleyball, soccer and badminton.
Programmed by operator DrinkDenver, the half-acre green lawn adjacent to Hopscotch will also serve as a space for community-focused events, including watch parties, trivia nights, weekly happy hours, bike-in movie nights and fitness on the lawn.
Hopscotch will also allow on-leash dogs throughout the space.
“Hopscotch will lend itself to a community-first gathering place where nearby residents and neighbors can spend an afternoon with one another, grab a spontaneous post-run or ride beer or pop-in for a nightcap,” said Alison Nestel-Patt, director of development and user experience at FORMATIV.
“Our hope is to become the go-to neighborhood spot, where everyone is welcome, that fosters connectivity and energy for Denargo Market and, more broadly, Denver.”

Hopscotch’s hours of operation are listed as 2-10 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, noon to 10 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 7 p.m. Sundays.
Spread across 17 acres along the South Platte riverfront just north of Downtown Denver, Denargo Market is zoned to offer 3 million square feet of development, including residential, retail, office and hospitality spaces, public art and more.
Construction of infrastructure and public parks began in September 2023, and since then, the development has rolled out a range of amenities, including sports courts, a dog park, more than 4 acres of new public space and a 30-foot-tall climbable rhino sculpture named “Rhingo.”
Additionally, as part of development, Denargo Market’s project website notes that land at 2700 Wewatta Way was donated for a 56-unit affordable housing development serving young adults ages 18 to 24 who are transitioning from foster care or experiencing homelessness.
