North Bay Interior Valleys and East Bay Interior Valleys are included in a dense fog advisory released by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 8:31 p.m. The advisory is in effect until Monday Dec. 15, at 11 a.m.
The NWS San Francisco CA says to expect, “Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.”
“Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous,” according to the NWS. “If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.”

In cases of near-zero visibility due to dense fog, activate your hazard lights and seek a safe spot, like a nearby business parking lot, to pull over and stop.

If no designated parking area is available, pull your vehicle as far off the road as possible. Once stationary, deactivate all lights except the hazard flashers, engage the emergency brake, and release the brake pedal to ensure your tail lights are not illuminated, reducing the risk of other drivers colliding with your stationary vehicle.
