A 20-year-old man was convicted Monday of manslaughter after stabbing his uncle to death in a Jefferson Park home last year, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
A Denver jury found George Vigil guilty in the September stabbing of Robert Vigil, his 39-year-old uncle, according to a statement from the Denver District Attorney’s Office on social media.
The fatal stabbing, which happened at a home in the 2300 block of North Federal Boulevard, escalated from a fight over hot sauce, agency officials said.
George Vigil was charged with second-degree murder but convicted of the lesser charge, according to court records.
He faces between two and six years in prison when he’s sentenced on Aug. 22, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
