Denver NWSL announces it has record 10,000 season ticket deposits

From the jump, Denver NWSL has made and stuck to its promises, including purpose-built stadiums and revolutionary women’s sports training facilities. In return, 10,000 fans have made their own commitment.

After garnering 5,280 season ticket deposits in just a weekend following Denver NWSL’s announcement as a franchise in January, the club revealed on Monday that it has reached 10,000, breaking an NWSL record for season ticket deposits.

The landmark comes a week and a half after the club announced a partnership with the Cherry Creek School District and the City of Centennial to build a stadium, state-of-the-art training facilities and seven auxiliary soccer fields outside the stadium.

“This milestone showcases that our community is passionate about women’s professional soccer and what we are building in Denver and across the Front Range,” Denver NWSL controlling owner Rob Cohen said. “There is still a great deal of work to be done. We are excited to continue collaborating with our community to create a club that is representative and inclusive of all of Colorado.”

The Centennial stadium near Dove Valley will house 12,000 seats while the club plays there for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, after which it will be reduced to 4,000 for the school district to use indefinitely.

Construction of a purpose-built stadium and entertainment district at Santa Fe Yards is expected to be completed by spring 2028, which would be around the beginning of the NWSL season. That stadium will hold 14,500 seats with room and plans for future expansion.

The club is still deciding on its permanent name and branding, for which a fan vote was held in February to narrow down a list of six potential franchise names to one.
