Denver police officer fires at person in Elyria Swansea

A Denver police officer shot at a person in the Elyria Swansea neighborhood on Monday morning following a confrontation about a stolen motorcycle, according to the Denver Police Department.

Officers contacted two people who allegedly had a stolen motorcycle near East 48th Avenue and Jackson Street, according to a 9:09 a.m. post on the Denver Police Department’s X page.

An officer fired at, but did not hit, one of the people, who appeared to have a weapon, according to a 9:53 a.m. update on X.

Two people are in custody and the shooting is under investigation, according to police.

The posts did not provide the age and gender of the people arrested and did not identify the officer who fired their weapon.
