Near-record highs are forecast for Denver this week as unseasonably warm weather continues, according to the National Weather Service.
Denver temperatures will peak near 67 degrees on Monday, just one degree short of the 68-degree record, set in 1921, according to the weather service. Normal temperature highs for Denver this time of year fall closer to 43 degrees.
The city will have another chance to break records on Friday, when temperatures are again forecast to hit 67 degrees. That would tie the city’s current record high for Dec. 19, set in 2023, weather service records show.
Temperatures will dip midweek as a chance for rain and snow enters the picture Wednesday night, forecasters said.
Denver will have a slight chance of rain between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday, and a slight chance of snow between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday, according to hourly forecasts from the weather service.
Temperatures are not expected to drop below freezing Wednesday night into Thursday morning, so any snow that does fall is unlikely to stick.
