Disappearance of woman, 37, last seen leaving work now being treated as ‘murder’ after car found empty & two arrested

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a businesswoman vanished in Cardiff shortly after leaving work.

Paria Veisi, 37, was last seen on Saturday April 12 and is yet to be found – with cops now saying they have “no proof” she is alive.

A major crime team for South Wales Police are leading the case as they announced two people both known to Ms Veisi have been arrested.

A 41-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman have both been detained on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

Officers confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, the senior investigating officer, said: “I can confirm that the investigation into the disappearance of Paria Veisi is now a murder investigation.

“I currently have no proof that Paria is alive.

“Her family and friends are extremely concerned that they have not heard from her which is totally out of character.

“Paria’s family have been informed and we are keeping them updated.”

Police have been scouring through CCTV footage as well as speaking to neighbours and those who knew Paria best.

Mr Powell has issued an urgent appeal for information regarding the mystery disappearance.

The 37-year-old Welsh woman was last seen wearing a black zip-up gym top over a red top, black trousers, and trainers last Saturday.

A desperate hunt was launched to try and locate her after her loved ones reported her missing.

Days later, her black Mercedes GLC 220 was found a mile away in Dorchester Avenue, Penylan.
