A 28-year-old man died at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort on Thursday, marking the third death at the Florida park — and second at that resort — in the past 10 days.
The deceased was identified as Matthew Cohn, with Orlando’s Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office telling the Daily News that he’s believed to have been staying at the hotel.
The circumstances surrounding Cohn’s death are still under investigation.
A TikTok from Thursday shows a portion of the resort’s Bay Lake Tower cordoned off by caution tape, with police officers standing guard and other officials present.
“We woke up to a VERY large law enforcement [presence] outside our balcony this morning at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower,” the video was captioned. “We were told it was a ‘medical emergency.’ Prayers to the family & those involved.”
The latest death comes after Summer Equitz, 31, died by apparent suicide on Oct. 14 at the Contemporary Resort.
Earlier this week, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to The News that a male in his 60s “experienced a medical episode” Tuesday morning and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. That incident reportedly occurred at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
On Oct. 6, a woman in her 60s became unresponsive while riding the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland in California. She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
