Disneyland plans to pull together a vibrant, energetic and dynamic ensemble of seven actors and five musicians from a diverse spectrum of theatrical and cultural backgrounds.

“Strong improvisational skills and the ability to connect with young audiences are key,” according to the Disney Auditions website.

The casting call offers a few hints about the “mysterious” new show, according to WDW News Today.

Disneyland has not yet announced the name of the new live show, a start date or the venue.

AGVA performers usually work in the Fantasyland Theatre, Golden Horseshoe and Hyperion Theater. The Tomorrowland Terrace stage is currently under refurbishment and behind construction walls, according to MiceChat.

“Fans are pointing to the Fantasyland Theatre, which has been largely unused since ‘Mickey and the Magical Map’ closed in 2020,” according to Disney Dining. “Theatrical shows have long been central to the park’s identity and their absence in recent years has left a gap that fans have noticed.”

Disneyland’s Fantasyland Theatre won’t be available until early 2026.

The “Tale of the Lion King” ended its run at the Fantasyland Theatre in January. Pixar Pals Playtime Party played in the Fantasyland Theatre during the summer. Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends will take over the Fantasyland Theatre from Nov. 14 through Jan. 7.

It’s possible the new casting call is for a Christmas show in the Fantasyland Theatre, Golden Horseshoe or Tomorrowland Terrace — but Disneyland hasn’t announced any new holiday shows for any of those venues.

A new Fantasyland Theatre show could be launched in February or March, after the removal of the Christmas holiday sets, installation of the new musical comedy sets and rehearsals on the stage for the actors and musicians.

The Golden Horseshoe and Tomorrowland Terrace stages could be prepped quicker — but neither likely has room for 12 performers.
