A mother has spoken of what she can remember after a hit-and-run driver left her with both legs broken.
Kirsty Pickering also suffered a broken arm, cracked ribs and cuts to her face from the crash in Stockport, Greater Manchester earlier this month.
The 38-year-old dog walker fears being unable after being told by doctors she may not be back walking for up to 12 weeks.
Kirsty was involved in the crash after parking her van outside her parents’ home at around 3.50pm on October 6 in Bredbury, Stockport to collect her son.
She was just getting out of her Fiat Fiorino when she was hit by a mystery black car.

She recalled: ‘All I remember is something black hitting me. The vehicle also hit my van, which is a write-off.’
The mother was taken by ambulance to Stepping Hill hospital.
Kirsty is now waiting to see if she will need to undergo surgery in her left leg, while her right arm is in a cast up to her shoulder.
‘In my left leg I have a torn ACL and broken tibia. I am waiting to see if I need surgery for that’, she explained.
‘I also have broken ribs and there is a wound to my left ankle where glass went in and I have stitches to my head, eyebrow, eyelid and cheek.’
The severe incident has left the mother-of-one doubting whether she’ll be able to resume her dog walking business, while her nine-year-old son, Romeo, is now in the care of her parents.
Kirsty’s mother Dawn has said the crash was so nasty she wants to move home in order to erase her memories of it.
She said: ‘Kirsty could easily have been killed. We heard the bang and I went outside. Kirsty was unconscious at first, then slipping in and out consciousness. I can’t get what I saw out of my mind.
‘Kirsty’s son was in our front room when it happened. I told him not to come out and was panicking.’
Police told the family they are reviewing CCTV footage but have so far made no arrests.
