Networks including CNN, Fox, and the Associated Press cut their audio as their cameras turned away from the address at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill.
Viewers shared their outrage at the interruption on social media.
“The pool cameraman is fired,” one slammed on X.
“Trump is talking and the pool cameraman or woman can’t even keep the camera straight.”
“What’s happening that the news just cut away from Trump’s speech???” one confused viewer wrote.
A reason for the interruption hasn’t been given.
Reporters only got to witness a few minutes of Trump’s address.
“It’s always nice to win,” Trump said, acknowledging his victory over Democrat Kamala Harris last week.
He secured all seven swing states to sweep to power, winning 312 electoral college votes to Harris’ 226 in the end.
As he spoke about his victory in swing states, a person at the conference could be heard shouting something unintelligible.
The outburst caused Trump to pause for a moment as he looked at the person shouting.
Camera feeds then began to start shaking and wobbling as Republicans applauded Trump speaking about his win in the election.
The stream cut just a few moments later.
It’s unclear if the shout is related to the interruption.
