Donald Trump is posting like a man on fire on Truth Social – but not with the usual swagger, suggesting something is brewing in the White House.

At the heart of it are the long-promised Jeffrey Epstein files. The one’s the US president has not released to the public, but promised to. The one’s he is reportedly mentioned in.

Jason Pack, host of The Disorder Podcast, told Metro that the Republican is ‘genuinely freaking out’ over the sex trafficking investigation and all the ripple effects it could have on him.

He said: ‘Trump knows that the story is not going away but he is trying to distract and pin it on other people because – obviously – they have him by the b***s. This is something which is tremendously dangerous for him.’

Pack added: ‘He is spending hours posting on Truth Social because he is genuinely freaking out about it. He cannot conceal his emotions, he is very concerned about this.’

For years, Trump has played the ‘white knight’ of the Make America Great Again supporters, promising to expose the elite and ‘drain the swamp’ to set Washington DC free from its influence peddlers.

That, however, has not happened. With the Epstein documents still sealed and pressure mounting, cracks are showing in the MAGA movement.

Pack said: ‘He is going to do everything to prevent it coming out because it could get him slaughtered in the midterms and it can allow for a civil war in the MAGA movement.’

Conspiracy theorists are even speculating that there may be a distraction coming – a big one – on the horizon.

Pack explained: ‘Metaphorically – as well as literally – I am betting on my stock choices that on August 1 we are going to see some surprise tariffs.

‘We are going to see other surprises because the conversation for Trump needs to move on from this Epstein stuff.

‘We could easily see the metaphorical bombing of China. He really likes the idea of an economic war with China. That suits him.

A message calling on President Donald Trump to release all files related to Jeffrey Epstein is projected onto the U.S. Chamber of Commerce building across from the White House in Washington, DC, on July 18, 2025. President Donald Trump's administration said it would seek the release of grand jury testimony related to Jeffrey Epstein, as the US president sought to dispel lingering political fallout over his team's handling of the late financier's sex trafficking case. Attorney General Pam Bondi said the Justice Department will ask a court to unseal the grand jury transcripts, as Trump's relationship with Epstein came under the spotlight again over an alleged off-color letter published by the Wall Street Journal. ‘So why would he not be pursuing that? I think he will.’

The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that the US attorney general Pam Bondi told Trump that his name was among many high-profile figures mentioned in the Epstein files.

Trump’s personal ties to the financier are well-established and his name is already known to have been included in records related to him, though the mention does not imply wrongdoing.

This also comes a week after the Journal published a story alleging that hesent Epstein a letter for his 50th birthday in 2003 with text framed by the outline of a naked woman, at the request of his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Trump has vehemently denied this and on Friday filed a defamation lawsuit against publication, the two reporters behind the story, and the publisher.
