A driver was arrested after hitting a Chicago police officer and another car Wednesday night in Washington Park, according to Chicago police.
Officers pulled a vehicle over in a traffic stop in the 5700 block of South State Street at 8:24 p.m. when the woman driving fled north, hitting one officer in the foot, police said. The woman driving, as well as a man who was a passenger, were later arrested after she rear-ended an SUV in the 2600 block of South State Street.
The officer who was hit was taken to a nearby hospital in fair condition, and the woman driving the SUV the suspect is alleged to have hit was taken to Insight Hospital in fair condition, police said.
Charges and citations are pending, police said.
