Driver arrested in fatal Capitol Hill scooter crash

A 35-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of vehicular homicide after Denver police say he struck and killed a woman riding a stand-up electric scooter in Capitol Hill.

Investigators say Kedrick Feldon was likely driving while impaired when he hit a woman in the 700 block of East Colfax Avenue on Sunday night.

The woman was trying to merge into eastbound traffic when Feldon hit her, the Denver Police Department said in a news release Monday. She was unresponsive when police arrived and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officers on scene reported Feldon was swaying, had bloodshot eyes and failed a field sobriety test, according to an arrest affidavit.

He did not have a valid driver’s license, insurance or license plate tags and was previously convicted of driving under the influence in Denver in 2017.
