A man was killed when his car caught fire when he crashed early Saturday on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
The 30-year-old was driving southbound in a white Honda after fleeing a previous crash when he went up an embankment and hit a pole about 1:30 a.m. near 76th Street, Illinois State Police said.
His car was engulfed in flames, causing him to be trapped inside, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
All lanes reopened about 4:40 a.m., police said.
No other information was available.
