A driver was killed and a passenger was seriously injured in a car crash Thursday night in Humboldt Park.
The 31-year-old man was driving a white sedan about 10:40 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Central Avenue when he merged into the oncoming lanes and struck a fence and a pole, Chicago police said.
He suffered severe trauma to his body and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died, police said.
A 23-year-old passenger suffered a fractured ankle and lacerations, and was taken in serious condition to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said.
CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
