A fire burning in Eagle County closed westbound Interstate 70 near Dotsero on Saturday afternoon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
I-70 will be closed “for an extended period due to an active fire in the area,” officials said on social media.
“There are no detours in place, so please plan ahead and find alternate routes if you are traveling through the area, ” the state patrol said.
The highway is closed between exit 133 for Dotsero and exit 129 for Bair Ranch, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Travelers should expect significant delays, state officials said.
