OAKLAND — An East Bay man has been charged with distributing child sexual abuse material to a woman who told police she didn’t want or ask for it, court records show.
Daniel Savedra, 37, is in jail facing charges of possessing more than 600 images of child pornography, distributing sexual abuse videos to the woman and possessing a methamphetamine pipe allegedly found in his possession. He is set to have a bail hearing on Wednesday, which could lead to his release from jail, court records show.
Savedra allegedly made it easy for police. He sent the woman a selfie in between videos depicting prepubescent children being raped and sexually abused, authorities said.
The woman told police she hardly knew Savedra and that he had propositioned her during their brief interactions. She said he included comments alongside the videos, like texting, “I like to do this with little babies,” authorities said.
He also allegedly sent her a video of himself engaged in a sex act with an adult, while smoking methamphetamine, according to authorities.
The crimes were reported to Alameda police. Savedra was later arrested in Hayward.
For now, Savedra’s bail has been set at $500,000, records show.
