The station was emptied at 2.50pm due to a ‘security alert’, according to witnesses and the monitoring service TfL Access.
Hundreds of commuters were hurried out from the station and towards the nearby bus station.
Network Rail, which manages Euston, told Metro that the incident was resolved by 3.10pm.
‘After a swift response from security teams and the emergency services, the station was declared safe for passengers and staff within 30 minutes, a spokesperson said.
‘Passengers are advised to check their journeys with National Rail this evening, as train services continue to be disrupted as a result of the incident.’
British Transport Police confirmed to Metro that officers were called due to ‘reports of a suspicious item’.
The force added: ‘A cordon was put in place and the station evacuated as a precaution.
‘The item has since been assessed as non-suspicious and the incident stood down.’
Avanti West Coast has warned of ‘residual cancellations and delays in/out of London Euston’.
