The English countryside wedding this past weekend of Steve Jobs’ model daughter Eve Jobs proves that it’s been quite a summer for the global elite to throw big, glitzy weddings with guests lists that include some of the richest, most powerful and flashiest people in the world.
First, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris and others high up in the Democratic establishment descended on the Hamptons in mid-June to attend the “political royal wedding” of Huma Abedin, the former political aide of Hillary Clinton, and Alex Soros, the son of George Soros, the Democratic Party’s most generous patron, according to the New York Times.
Later in June, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez tied the knot in what’s been reported to be a $50 million, multi-day wedding extravaganza in Venice, which attracted some of the “worst people on the planet,” as critics said. That is, guests who included Kim Kardshian, Kylie Jenner, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.
On Saturday, Eve Jobs, 27, married British Olympic gold medal equestrian Harry Charles, 26. The couple tied the knot in a historic church that dates back to the Norman Conquest, in the picturesque Cotswolds region of England. This guest list also was pretty packed with some powerful people, as well as nepo baby friends of the bride.
For the Jobs wedding, former vice president and 2024 presidential candidate Harris made another appearance at one of the summer’s major weddings. Harris is a close friend of the bride’s mother, Laurene Powell Jobs, according to Vanity Fair. Harris also hosted a pre-wedding dinner party at a local pub, according to Hello! magazine.
Meanwhile, Sofia Abramovich, the daughter of Roman Abramovich, the controversial Russian billionaire oligarch, also was a guest, the Daily Mail reported. Sofia Abramovich, who shares Eve Jobs and Harry Charles’ love of horses, is known to enjoy a pretty luxurious lifestyle in the U.K. even though her father was sanctioned in 2022 for his ties to Vladimir Putin after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Mirror reported.
Eve Jobs, a 2021 graduate of Stanford University, and her groom also are friends with Bruce Springsteen’s daughter, Jessica, and Eve Jobs made her one of her nine bridesmaids, all of whom wore red, satin cocktail gowns for bridesmaids’ dresses. Jennifer Gates Nassar, the eldest daughter of billionaire Bill Gates and ex-wife Melinda French Gates, also attended. Other famous attendees came from the British royal family: Princess Beatrice and her husband Edo, the Daily Mail said.
The various festivities for the multi-day affair were coordinated by San Francisco-based events and arts magnate Stanlee Gatti, according to Vanity Fair.
A possibly curious addition to the guest list was Kourtney Kardashian, Vanity Fair also reported. She was one of the few members of the Kardashian/Jenner family to skip the Venice wedding of Bezos and Sánchez. But somehow, she found her way to the Jobs wedding. She let it be known that she was in the Costwolds the same weekend as the Jobs wedding by posting images from her trip, including what appears to be table decorations from one of the wedding events, Vanity Fair reported.
