Chicago police are sounding the alarm after a man posing as a rideshare driver sexually assaulted two women on the Near North Side.
In both of the incidents, a midsize black SUV, not the vehicle ordered by the victims via the rideshare app, picked up the victims and the driver later sexually assaulted them, police said.
The most recent attack happened July 19 around 2 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Wells Street. The first happened March 30 around 5 a.m. in the 1100 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive, officials said.
The driver is described as a male between 35 and 45 years old with a heavy build, police said.
Anyone with information on the assaults should call Area 3 detectives at 312-744-8261 or submit an anonymous tip online using reference numbers JJ200277or JJ340067.
