A female pedestrian was struck by a Metra train Monday morning in north suburban Lake Forest, causing “extensive” service delays.
Around 8:55 a.m., outbound train No. 2107 on the Milwaukee North Line struck the pedestrian near the Lake Forest station, 911 Telegraph Rd., Metra officials said.
Inbound and outbound train movement has been halted near Lake Forest due to a pedestrian being struck by 2107. Extensive delays are anticipated.

The pedestrian was taken to Condell Hospital in Libertyville, officials said. Her condition was not given.
An inbound track reopened around 9:45 a.m., but trains were expected to experience “moderate to extensive” delays, according to Metra.
