Firefighters were able to stop forward progress Saturday on a brush fire that broke out in the hills of Studio City.
The fire was reported at 3:36 p.m. near the Betty Dearing Trail, which is near Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Mulholland Drive, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
LAFD crews in the air and on the ground held the fire to about 1.5 to 2 acres, Stewart said around 4:45 p.m.
Firefighters were slated to remain on scene for an extended period of time to ensure that no hot spots flared up in what Stewart called “isolated terrain.”
The area is home to popular hiking trails and the TreePeople organization’s property. There are also numerous homes in the surrounding area.
In Saturday’s fire, no structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported, Stewart said.
