Fifteen fire engines have been called to a blaze at a takeaway restaurant in north London this morning.
Around 100 firefighters are at the blaze in Seven Sisters Road in Islington.
The London Fire Brigade said the whole of the ground floor of the building on Seven Sisters Road is alight.
The building contains flats above the restaurant. Control officers took the first calls at 3.45am with crews from Holloway, Kentish Town, Islington, Euston and surrounding fire stations at the scene.
Around 20 calls have been made to London Fire Brigade in connection with the blaze.
Station Commander Mike Watts, who is at the scene, said: ‘There are road closures in place and we urge people to avoid the area, particularly as we head into rush hour, due to congestion in the area.’
