First picture of ‘loved’ mother found dead in Welsh seaside town with 18-year-old arrested

A teenage boy is being interrogated by detectives after the body of a mother was discovered by police.

Angela Shellis, 45, was found in Prestatyn, Wales with police urging witnesses who would have been close to the Morfa football fields in the early hours of Friday morning to come forward.

Detectives said a local teenager was arrested hours later on suspicion of her murder.

A family spokesperson said: ‘Angela was a loved daughter, sister, mum and aunty and will be sadly missed.’

DCI Andy Gibson said: ‘The family are being supported by specialist trained officers and ask their privacy is respected during this tragic time.’

‘I am appealing to anyone who was in or around the Morfa area near to the football fields on Friday 24th October between 3am and 8.30am.

‘Whether you believe you have anything of significance to offer the investigation, it is imperative that we identify any persons in the area during these key times.’

He added: ‘I urge people not to speculate about the incident online. If you were in the area during these times please contact North Wales Police.’

Gareth Davies, Senedd Member for the Vale of Clwyd constituency, said: ‘This is just horrendous.

‘Please follow all of the Police advice regarding this matter and do come forward if you have any information.

‘Let’s give this poor lady and her family all of the respect and justice they so rightly deserve.’
