A woman who plunged to her death from a block of flats has been named by police who have launched a murder investigation.

Tia Langdon, from Southampton, fell at around 2.43pm on Thursday in Cuckmere Lane, near Redbridge Rail station.

Emergency services found the 25-year-old woman with ‘significant injuries’.

She was rushed to hospital, but died there the following day despite the efforts of doctors.

Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

An 18-year-old teenager from Southampton has now been arrested on suspicion of murder as part of the investigation. He remains in custody.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: ‘Tia’s family are being supported by specialist officers at this time.Officers from our Major Crime Unit continue to investigate the incident.’

Police are not looking for any further suspects at this time.

Any detail of his identity or his connection with the woman have not been released as of yet.

Relatives laid dozens of floral tributes outside the block of flats.

According to the Daily Echo one handwritten note read: ‘Thank you for always being proud of me.

‘Thank you for being the best big sister ever. You were the smartest person I ever knew, and I’ll forever be proud of you.’
