Former Denver resident and professional wrestler Charles Bernard Scaggs, also known as 2 Cold Scorpio, was arrested after allegedly stabbing a customer during a fight at a Missouri gas station where he worked as a security guard.
Scaggs, 58, was arrested June 15 on suspicion of assault after an altercation with a customer at a Love’s Travel Stop in Kansas City, Missouri, according to a probable cause statement from the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office.
Kansas City police officers responded to the gas station in the northeast part of the city around 3:40 p.m. and found a man bleeding on the ground outside the station and going in and out of consciousness as a witness applied pressure to a wound on his head, according to the report.
The man was taken to the hospital, and doctors later found cuts on his head and chest and two stab wounds to his stomach and lower back.
According to the report, the man told police he was using the gas station ATM and as he left, Scaggs approached him and made comments about him smoking in the gas station and got in his face. The man pushed Scaggs away and Scaggs attacked him.

But Scaggs told police the man was smoking in the gas station when Scaggs told him he couldn’t smoke inside, at one point placing a hand on his back to guide him outside.
The man was aggressive and threatened to kill and hurt Scaggs, Scaggs told police, getting in his face and telling him to back up before he started “grappling” with Scaggs.
Scaggs told investigators that at one point the man’s legs were wrapped around his head, neck and arms and he stabbed and punched the man to get away from him.
Scaggs is charged with felony first-degree assault and was released from jail on a $50,000 bail. He is set to appear in court July 11, according to court records.
