Four arrested after boy, 3, falls from third-storey window

Four people have been arrested after a three-year-old boy fell from an apartment window and is fighting for his life.

Two women, aged 26 and 45, and two men, aged 29 and 45, were arrested on suspicion of assault, ill-treatment and neglect of a child after they fell from a three-storey window in Southampton.

The child was airlifted to safety after an air ambulance landed in a nearby park, and is currently in serious condition.

All four suspects have been released on bail while police continue their enquiries.

A spokesperson previously said: ‘We were called at 6.35pm on Wednesday 4 September to a report of the concern for the welfare of a three-year-old child at an address on South Front in Southampton.

‘It was reported that the boy had fallen from a window, he has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition. Police attended and remain at the location at the current time carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.’
