Two-time Grammy-winning hip-hop group Arrested Development will headline the14th Annual Uptown Jazz Festival in Long Beach on Saturday, Aug. 2.
The group is known for its Afrocentric and socially conscious music, which is frequently described as an alternative to gangsta rap. The festival will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. in North Long Beach at Houghton Park, 6301 Myrtle Ave., Long Beach.
It includes a full day of music, live performances, a DJ to keep things spinning between sets and a Kid Zone for families. There will also be food and art vendors. Parking is free, but sure to be at a premium, so think about getting there early.
Tickets are free but get them online from EventBrite at Bit.ly/UptownJazzFestivalTickets.
Important note: This is not the Long Beach Jazz Fest, usually held at the Marina Green park, which is canceled this year.
Arrested Development is currently touring in support of its new album, entitled “Adult Contemporary Hip Hop.”
And enjoy!
