ALAMO — Gunfire early Thursday on an East Bay freeway hospitalized a person, the California Highway Patrol said.
Few details of the shooting were available immediately, but California Highway Patrol spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Barclay said it occurred about 12:25 a.m. on northbound Interstate 680 near the Stone Valley Road exit.
The extent of the person’s injuries were not known immediately, and the CHP had no immediate information on where the gunfire came from. An ambulance took the person to a hospital.
Detectives were investigating.
