As Prince William prepares to fly to Germany to watch the England v Denmark match tomorrow, Metro.co.uk has compiled a list of all the football teams the Royal family support.

The prince, who is president of the FA, will be attending the match at Frankfurt Arena on June 20, Kensington Palace announced.

As he heads to support England, let’s take a look at the other teams loved by the Royals.

King Charles

To the surprise of almost everybody, the King revealed back in 2012 that he is fan of Burnley.

Asked to explain his allegiance to the Clarets, Charles said: ‘Burnley has been through some very challenging times and I’m trying to find ways of helping to regenerate and raise aspirations and self-esteem in that part of the world.’

In response, the Lancashire club cheekily offered the monarch a VIP season ticket.

Prince William

The heir to the throne is a well know Aston Villa supporter, having even brought his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte to cheer on the team.

Speaking on his love for Villa, William told the BBC: ‘A long time ago at school I got into football big time. All my friends were Chelsea or Manchester United fans and I didn’t really want to follow the run of the mill team.

‘I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments. Aston Villa has always had a great history.’

Princess Kate

One might have expected the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, to have supported Aston Villa given the allegiance of her husband.

However, it was revealed during a children’s charity event in 2015 that she is actually a Chelsea supporter.

A child who met Kate at the event said: ‘We high-fived because she supports Chelsea and I support Chelsea.’

Queen Elizabeth II

The late Queen left many wondering who she supported (Picture: AFP)

Queen Elizabeth was always quite secretive when it came to her football alliances, but it’s long been rumoured that she secretly supported Arsenal FC.

Jeremy Corbyn once said in a speech: ‘Now, we know the Queen is absolutely above politics. She may be above football, too, but many locals harbour this quite secret view that she’s actually, privately, a Gooner.’

For those not in the know, ‘Gooner’ is the term for Arsenal fans.

However, confusion arises from rival claims that she is actually a Hammers fan, when The Daily Mirror reported that Buckingham Palace staff were ‘shocked’ when the Queen revealed herself to be a West Ham fan.

To this day, it remains unknown who she supported.

Other Royals

Though he married into the Royal family, Mike Tindall revealed he supports Leeds United, where he’s from.

Prince Andrew and Lady Sarah’s daughter Princess Beatrice reportedly supports Manchester City, having first supported the team while training for the London Marathon.
