Home Office figures showed 424 people crossed the Channel on seven boats on Friday.
Analysis of government spending shows it would cost £3.2billion to process all new asylum claims from this year.
Meanwhile, Tory leadership hopeful Robert Jenrick argued Labour scrapping the Tories’ Rwanda deportation plan has led to “open season”.
Tory leadership hopeful Robert Jenrick said: “Keir Starmer has proven himself to be a useful idiot for the smuggler gangs.
“His decision to scrap, not strengthen, the Rwanda deterrent has led to open season in the Channel.
“The British people are going to be made to pay the price for his weakness with more expensive asylum hotels and dangerous illegal migrants on the streets.”
And the Home Office vowed to smash human trafficking operations following recent tragedies.
Three people died and 56 were rescued when a boat sank in the Channel on Wednesday.
