The evening game of what was scheduled to be a doubleheader between the Cubs and Brewers on Monday was postponed due to thunderstorms.
It was rescheduled for 1:20 p.m. Tuesday as part of a split doubleheader, before the 7:05 p.m. game.
Left-hander Matthew Boyd is set to start Game 1. And the Cubs plan to reinstate right-hander Jameson Taillon from the 15-day IL (strained right calf) to start Game 2.
The skies darkened over Wrigley Field on Monday as the scheduled 7:05 p.m. start time for Game 2 of a doubleheader between the Cubs and Brewers approached.
Around 6 p.m., the downpour began. Flashes of lightning and bursts of thunder followed. The Cubs officially postponed the game at about 6:35 p.m.
