Genova Delicatessen, an Italian deli with East Bay roots dating back decades, has closed its Treat Boulevard location in Walnut Creek.
The Countrywood Shopping Center location closed Nov. 15, according to a deli clerk. Known for its wide array of massive sandwiches with meats like mortadella, prosciutto and more, other locations in Napa and Walnut Creek remain open.
The family-run restaurant chain’s long-standing Oakland location drew hours-long lines when it closed in 2016 after 90 years.
Details: While the 2064 Treat Blvd. location is now closed, additional locations are open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily at 1105 S. California Blvd., Walnut Creek, instagram.com/genovadeli, and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily at 1550 Trancas St., Napa, genovadelinapa.com.
