Girl, 17, killed in crash on M5 after getting out of cop car identified by police with internal probe launched

A TEENAGER who died in a motorway crash has been named by police.

Tamzin Hall, 17, was killed in the horror incident on the M5 on Monday evening.

She had stepped out of a police car between junction 24 and 25 in Taunton, Somerset, moments before the tragedy.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed a mandatory referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

The force has said this evening the formal identification process has been completed.

Tamzin, from Wellington, died following the collision shortly after 11pm.

A statement said: “She had exited a police vehicle that had stopped on the northbound side while transporting her, moments before the incident…

“Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Tamzin’s family for their devastating loss.

“A specially-trained family liaison officer remains in contact with them to keep them updated and to provide support.

“The family have asked for privacy at this difficult time.”
