President Donald Trump often criticizes U.S. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY), the Congressman who on Friday received the required 218th signature on his discharge petition to push the House to vote on the complete release of the Epstein Files.
Yesterday, the thrice-married Trump — who had an affair with second wife Marla Maples during his first marriage to Ivana Trump — took a personal shot at Massie, who lost his first wife of 31 years, Rhonda Massie, the mother of his four children, in June 2024.
Trump wrote: “Did Thomas Massie, sometimes referred to as Rand Paul Jr., because of the fact that he always votes against the Republican Party, get married already??? Boy, that was quick! No wonder the Polls have him at less than an 8% chance of winning the Election. Anyway, have a great life Thomas and (?). His wife will soon find out that she’s stuck with a LOSER!”
People on both sides of the aisle are slamming Trump for the personal attack on Massie. Former Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis, whom Trump recently pardoned, replied: “I know personally from my friendship of more a decade with Massie how incredibly difficult it was to find himself suddenly a widower and losing his best friend. I have prayed for him every day. I was absolutely delighted he married a year and a half later and wish only the best for him and his beautiful bride Carolyn.”
Thomas Massie’s beloved wife Rhonda passed away unexpectedly in June 2024. They were married 31 years.

Ellis added: “To have the kind of deep faith in the Lord, resilience, and courage to find love and joy again in a new season of his life should be met only with deep admiration and encouragement. The Lord brought him out of his suffering and into a new day. Some things are still sacred and should still be beyond this kind of political mud-slinging.”
When fellow conservative Kelly McCarty replied to Ellis, “This was WAY below the belt,” Ellis replied, “Yep. Just so unnecessary.”
Democrat Amy McGrath, who is running for Senator Mitch McConnell‘s seat, replied to Trump’s post: “There is just something really wrong with this. I don’t care if you wear a red jersey or a blue one. The lack of decency is stunning. It’s just plain wrong. Why don’t more Kentucky republicans say so?”
